So intimate and inviting, and having done woodcuts in the past I was so intrigued by more of the smaller works. The execution of the smaller works seemed so delicate, that it seemed to almost have a painters touch, then the wild, rough, tribal look of a relief wood cut.
As I went through I kept looking for the BIG name artists and I was surprised to see Donald Judd up there. His sculptures are always so compelling that you'd expect any other work done by him under a different medium would be too. AAAAND it was. although the color choice was optically abrasive, I was able to read it from left to right and right to left and follow the uniformity of all three pieces.
I was actually surprised by how pleasant the show was that I thanked myself later for not spending the 20 dollars to go to the city.
