In Production

Thanks to a snow day and no critiques last week, I have not have work shown in three weeks. Friday there will be no critique for Group 2. Then there is spring break.

The class after spring break I want to strive and have at least one of the pieces I will be showing done.

My progress has been more in my editing then subject matter itself. Due to the fact that Annie Liebovitz has done a Disney campaign, it is going to hard to do one myself seeing how I cannot match up with the former's celebrity. I will figure something out.

I want to maintain my art history knowledge of painting and focus on something similar to Valasquez's "Las Meninas". Meaning I will still be one of the subjects of the photograph, but I will try to keep the same mystery as to if I am the centrifugal part of the piece or merely a side character. I will be off more to the sides in terms of portraying a lesser character of any film I decide to replicate.

In terms of lighting, I am trying to have something more along the lines of chiaroscuro. It helps with my editing process and adds an element of painting, my concentration.

I still want to make it look like a fashion editorial so subjects will be done up in a manner similar to fashion magazines we frequently browse.

With that said. Off to the drawing board.
